our primary need …

… is to be loved. The case of euthanasia in Quebec.

One of the presentations at this weekend’s New York Encounter.

While Quebec’s health care system lobbies to accommodate assisted suicide, a chorus of voices against this practice, that is federally outlawed, is heard on the front lines. A stream of witnesses, especially among medical professionals, brings the discussion on the issue of “care” to surprising depth. “The patient facing the end of life needs to be accompanied in a human way”. A group of a group of health care professionals and students from Quebec, tells us about their experiences with the dying and the living, and pleads for the importance of solidarity.
